lifepileI’ll admit it, I checked out this book more because I was hopeful for nature photography than I really wanted to read about being a hunter or a gatherer.  The book was actually pretty interesting though, telling of being a guide and some fun stories from along the way.  There are even some recipes included which I thought was a nice touch.  If you’re into nature and hunting then I think you will get a lot more out of the book than I did – but there are some great photographs in it too.

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review I was not otherwise compensated.

About the Book

Readers will be regaled by stories about the self-centering effects of living within nature, written by one who knows. Fifty years as a guide to the worlds of hunting, fishing, and outfitting have allowed the author to observe just how participants in this lifestyle are humbled by their dealings with the world’s critters. As will become evident, running a guide service can be fun, and the clients and animals they encounter can by funny to watch. Here is a lifetime’s worth of outfitter’s secrets, along with little known nature facts and proven strategies to harvest more game. This tale of decades of discovery speaks to every sportsman or woman, ranging from the utter neophyte and the most experienced.
