GMail Categories? Go Away!

I don’t know about you – but I’m not a big fan of the changes that happened seemingly overnight to my GMail account creating “categories” for my inbox of Primary, Social and Promotions. My inbox is a mixture of everything I’ve been emailed and I’d like to keep it that way. As I read things and no longer need them, I delete them. If I need to save them I have my own set of personalized categories where I place everything. I don’t need GMail guessing what needs to go where and essentially giving me 3 inboxes to check per email address. (I have something like 11 email addresses and while all aren’t through Google/GMail that still ends up being a LOT of clicking that I don’t really need to be doing.) This comes after a couple weeks ago they decided to no longer let me select what emails I wanted to delete and I had to go through each one individually to delete them… (I’ve since modified my settings so it is now swipe to delete and not swipe to archive)

Anyway, fed up this morning when I saw the changes I went through the settings. If you go to the Settings for your email you want to make the switch on, there is one that says “Inbox Categories” click that and then there are all sorts of check boxes – Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums. If you want categories, make sure they have a check. If you’d prefer everything be lumped in your “primary” inbox, uncheck them all so that it will default to only Primary.

This is what works on my Android (HTC One X) phone. On the web version, go to Settings once logged in and then to Inbox and you get the same check box categories to uncheck!

Product Review: Fuzzy Ink Dinosaur Shirt!

If you are looking for a dinosaur shirt, or a mustache shirt or more importantly, a dinosaur with a mustache shirt…  Let me introduce you to Fuzzy Ink!  Fuzzy Ink is dedicated to the loving production of mustache apparel. Armed with a unique sense of style and an under-appreciated sense of humor, they work frantically to bring the freshest designs to the unkempt mustache kingdom. Each shirt, from the custom stamped tag to the artwork, is designed and hand printed in their underground lair!  In addition to shirts they also sell prints of their designs as well, iphone cases and lots of other great mustache items. I know mustaches are so hot right now so if you’re into that, be sure to check out the site!

They recently sent me a dinosaur shirt to check (T-Riffic Failure) out and I love it.  It’s perfect for summer, depicting a T-Rex serving Ice Cream and of course – he has a mustache!  (And it’s a failure because he dropped the scoop of ice cream on the ground. Bummer!) The shirt is 60% Cotton / 40% Polyester and comes in a crew neck t shirt with the colors mint, gold and white printed on a storm shirt.  The shirt is very light weight and soft so it breathes easily and the ink is screen printed so it won’t deteriorate over time.  I am always paranoid with shirts with print on them, a lot of times they are printed poorly and after a wash or two it is all cracked and the shirt is basically ruined or it looks like it’s been through the war.  That is not the case with this shirt from Fuzzy Ink, the screen print is great quality and doesn’t feel heavy on the shirt like other prints.  I definitely approve.

Also worth noting is the shirt has no tag to scratch and bother you, it just has the fuzzy ink info printed on the inside back of the shirt.  Definitely a plus, nothing to be a pain in your neck (haha) and you don’t have to worry about anything sticking out of the back of your shirt, but all the information about the shirt and company is still there for you.
