This scale was pretty much ready to use, right out of the box. All I had to do was put the 3 batteries in the back of the scale and place it on a soft surface. I stood on it and based on my recent doctors appointments, the weight seemed to be accurate. It lights up too, so you can easily weigh yourself in the dark and not disturb others turning on bathroom lights. I especially liked that it has the antimicrobial technology. Reading the description about bacteria and multiplying really grossed me out – so I am glad to know that this scale will protect me from all that grossness! The scale is also super thin and light so if you want to move it from room to room it is painless and simple to do.
