NOVICA review and giveaway
I was recently asked to check out the NOVICA website and share it with my readers. The website is working with National Geographic to give talented artisans around the world a place to express their artistic talents and provide access to the world market. They have a number of items for sale on their site in the categories of Home Decor, Jewelry & Apparel, and Paintings.
If you’d like – you can explore by region to see what items are for sale – regions you can search are Andes, Bali and Java, Brazil, Central America, India, Mexico, Thailand and West Africa.
I chose to focus only on the Jewelry aspect of the site – and considering how long it took me to narrow down what item I wanted to buy it is a good thing that I limited myself or I would probably still be looking at everything the site has to offer!
I was recommended to check out the following pages first:
Amethyst Dangle Earrings
Garnet Dangle Earrings
Amber Earrings
Silver Pendant Necklaces
Silver Cocktail Rings
And that I did. But I also checked out almost everything else as well. It came down between a bracelet and earrings but ultimately I decided on these earrings:
I think you’ll agree they were a good choice, right? Perfect to wear to concerts or just every day! They were made by an artisan from Thailand.
It was really cool to see the path that the earrings took to get to me – through Thailand, Malaysia, Alaska, Tennessee and then to Connecticut! These earrings will have traveled more to get to me than they will while I am wearing them! You do need to sign for the items so either print out a fed ex form to sign and leave at your door for the delivery person to leave your item or make sure you are home! I got emailed at 3:30am that I’d need to sign and then later saw that the Fed Ex delivery was attempted at 8:53am. Had I known it was coming, I’d have tried to be ready for it before heading off to work – but I ended up signing the form the driver left and had to wait to the next day to get it (which was the day it was estimated to arrive anyway – just 5 days after I placed my order with the expedited shipping!)
I opted to save HALF of the gift card I was offered to give out to a lucky blog reader! So one lucky winner will get a gift certificate for $37.50 to novica.com! You can easily find a TON of items that are amazing and under $37.50 with shipping. Or you can put it towards a more expensive item and pay the difference. It is up to you! Details on how to win a the end of the post 🙂
I also wanted to let you know about NOVICA Live – which is a home party division of NOVICA. Over the years, customers have told the site that they would love to see the products live and in person. They launched their own party plan division – NOVICA Live which gives Consultants the opportunity to showcase the gifts and jewelry through home parties in an entertaining way, while still supporting artisans worldwide. If you are interested in hosting a party or becoming a consultant – head on over to http://www.novicalive.com/ for details.
In the event you decide to buy a starter kit please be sure choose that you heard about NOVICA Live through a blog when applying and put in my blog’s website. Starter kits cost $199 and have over $400 worth of samples and $150 in business materials included.
I was given a gift certificate in order to purchase an item to write this review. I was not otherwise compensated. In the event that one of my readers purchases a starter kit for Novica Live – I will receive a gift certificate.
