Celebs I’ve Met

A lot of times I’m asked what celebs I’ve met / how many I’ve met. Up until now, I had no idea. Hopefully this post lists them all.

Bands I’ve met more than once are only counted once. However, if I met a member of the band on their own on a different day (either while the band was together or broken up) it is counted as an additional separate person.

Josh Gracin, Mohegan Sun Wolf’s Den

What was supposed to be a mother’s day outing with my parents turned into me storming out of the house and going up to the casino by myself… but that’s a story for another time.

American Idol #4 runner up Josh Gracin, now a relatively successful country star, was playing the Wolf’s Den at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

I decided to snag a seat inside the den about an hour before he was set to take the stage. I got placed with some “strangers” but they were talkative and fun so I didn’t really feel like I was there alone.

At 8pm, Josh and his band took the stage. I don’t have his most recent release, but luckily he did a decent amount of songs that were on his first cd, so I knew those. I had planned to purchase his new cd tonight (before hopefully getting a photo with him) but he had no merch for sale! Which was a bad sign.

Throughout the show, he was throwing out T-Shirts rolled up as well as drumsticks. At the end of the set, the drummer tossed him drumsticks and he signed them and threw them out into the crowd. Unfortunately I wasn’t on the “floor” so nothing really made it to me.

After he was out of drumsticks, he started signing things people had for him and giving out set lists (I wish i could have gotten my hands on one of those!) He signed hats, napkins, random pieces of paper, pictures of him, cds, etc.

Then we all got kicked out. I didn’t venture too far away, in case he came out for pictures (I was on a mission, after all) Some of the band came out and took pictures, but the small crowd that was still inside the Wolf’s Den was shooed away so there went my chances.

Serves me right though, last show I didn’t bring my camera (what?) and met him and could have gotten a photo with him. There’s always next time… but for now, beating my “streak” will all be up to David Cook in 2 weeks…

Set list (I did pretty good picking out song names for not knowing the covers / new songs!) and more photos under the cut.

I Want To Live
Endless Helpless Hoping
Livin’ It Up
Wheels
Telluride
I’ll Still Love You
I Keep Coming Back
Better Man Tonight (new song – title might be wrong)
Favorite State of Mind
Bad Case of Loving You
Hold On To The Night
Brass Bed
We Weren’t Crazy
Turn It Up

Ain’t Goin’ Down (Til The Sun Comes Up)
Nothin To Lose

Two chances to beat the Idol Streak

As you may know, though I have met 5 Idol contestants the only ones I have photos with are ones that came in second. This month I have 2 chances to try and break the streak that I have going.

Sunday I am going to see 4th place runner up Josh Gracin, and near the end of the month I will be seeing last season’s winner, David Cook.

I’m hoping that I can break it on Sunday! I have met Josh before, but didn’t have a camera with me. This weekend I will be sure to have at least one camera with me.

My first radio call in win

And I didn’t go.

On the way home I was caller 11 for tickets and a M&G; with the new boyband, VFactory. I’m really not all that familiar with them, but they weren’t scheduled to perform until 11:30 and I couldn’t find anyone to go with so I opted out. (I have an 8:30 appt tomorrow morning to get my stitches out as well, so, better to rest up!)

I did however buy myself a 3rd row ticket (side section) for Demi Lovato and David Archuleta in June. And then I found out that Taylor Hanson’s new band Tinted Windows would be coming to NYC in June so I got my friend Jen and I tickets to that! June is starting to fill in rather nicely! (I think there are also 2 Mets games and perhaps a trip to Broadway and maybe NKOTB and No Doubt?)

Honor Society May 2

Yesterday Honor Society played their first show(s) in Pennsylvania at Hershey Park’s Ampitheater. I made the trip down there by myself as Lauren had a concert up here in CT to go to. The ride down Friday night was HORRIBLE, pouring rain on and off… but it wouldn’t be an Honor Society show if I wasn’t driving through the rain, would it? lol

I got to the park around noon and made my way over to the amphitheater with Kat and Lisa (of shine on media) and their friend. Shortly after I met up with my friend Amber who was completed rided out, so we just sat and chatted near the entrance where there was already a line forming.

We were able to hear sound check, and clips of “Full Moon Crazy”, “Why Didn’t I” and “Over You” were played. We could have gone up to the top of the amphitheater to peek inside, but figure with our luck, they’d be gone by the time we finally made it up there.

At 3pm, we were let inside. Amber and I ended up getting a spot in the 7th row, pretty dead center. The place was so tiny, that it really didn’t matter where you were, you still had a great view. Tons of merch was being sold, especially after word got out that buying a tshirt or poster got you a wristband to go to the meet and greet after the show.

I spotted the set list on the stage and took a picture to figure out what they’d be singing (which always ruins the surprise, but oh well)

Over You
Full Moon Crazy
Two Rebels
Why Didnt I
Goodnight My Love
My Own Way
Heartless
Nobody Has To Know
Don’t Close the Book
See U In The Dark

The first show seemed a bit off. Everyone was really into it, and if they hadn’t had a second show I probably wouldn’t have even noticed that the first one wasn’t full energy (they totally went all out for the second show)

In the first show, Alex dropped his drumstick after he twirled it, which I had NEVER seen him do before. But he kept on going with just the one stick until he had a chance to grab another one.

After the first show, they took a walk around the park with some fans (I sat that out) I did get a chance to talk to Andrew when they made their way back briefly though.

In the second show, they threw kisses into the crowd. One hit me in the hand. It was pretty painful and my hand was red for a good couple of songs! lol Who knew kisses could be so dangerous?

Once the show was over, we waited for the greet and meet, Amber and I each got our pics with the guys, I told them I (and Lauren!) would be seeing them at least once this summer (and me twice) and before we got in reallll trouble for talking too long, I left lol
