If you’re anything like me, there’s probably been several moments in your life when you wished you were a mermaid.  Well, now that I have a Mermaid Blanket, I am that much closer to making my wishes come true.  The Mermaid Blanket comes in 2 different sizes and all are 100% acrylic yarn production.

I love the blanket I got, the colors are just gorgeous and the blanket goes from my feet all the way up to my neck to keep me warm.  Of course it is summer now, but every now and then I find that the AC is cranking a little bit too cool for me so I am sure that it will get some use this summer, though I forsee most of its use coming in the upcoming fall and winter seasons in a few months!  The pattern of the tail with the yarn is really cool as well.

Product Review: Julio’s Adventures World Travel Tracker Map

I have been seeing these World Travel maps where you scratch off where you have been online for quite some time and had been debating getting one.  I think my main issue was debating getting one of just the US states or one that had all of the world countries as well.  I haven’t been to all that many countries.  And I haven’t really been to all that many states yet, either.  But when Julio’s approached me with the offer to review the World Travel map, it felt serendipitous.  I have opted to use this map for keeping track of where I have seen Hanson so the countries are accurate (I’ve only ever been out of the country to Canada for a non Hanson trip – but have seen Hanson there 3 times) there are a few more states I have been to, I just haven’t seen a concert there! I am sure in time that I will get to these repeat states for Hanson shows.  I will also be adding at least 2 countries (Australia and New Zealand) and at least 2 states (Illinois and Michigan) to the list after the Middle of Everywhere World Tour ends.  Will I be able to add any more states for the upcoming Finally It’s Christmas Tour? Well, we’ll just have to see.

Anyway… the map comes rolled up in a poster tube and everything is covered with gold that you need to scratch off to show the color underneath to mark that you have been there.  The map comes with 2 tools – a little scratcher and appropriately enough, a guitar pick. The poster is 17 x 24 and I thought pretty decently sized.  I opted to not use the guitar pick to scratch but only the tool as that seemed to have more precision with scratching and a lot of these New England states are tiny!  It also comes with some flag pins that you can use to mark things as well. Since I haven’t hung this anywhere just yet (it is currently on the dining room table as I continue to scratch the locations of my travels) I have not yet used these.

This is a great gift for anyone who is a world traveler and you don’t otherwise know what to get them! It will probably keep them busy for hours recollecting all the places that they have been and carefully scratching them all off on to the map to keep track!

Product Review: Fabric Reversible Sequin Pillow Case 16×16

I absolutely love these reversible sequin pillows and can’t help myself but to play with them whenever I see them in the store, so I am pretty excited that I now have one of all my own to play with whenever I like!  This is a throw pillow cover that measures 16×16 (I still need to get a pillow to fit inside of it) and has Blue & Rose sequins on the front side and a soft suede fabric on the back.  It is so fun and easy to just rub your hand over the sequins and change the color in any design you wish – stripes, change the entire thing, waves, letters, etc.  Occasionally some of the sequins do not flip as well as others, so I had to go in and change those one by one to the desired color but overall the movement of the sequins was free and simple and I absolutely love this pillow and everything about it, it reminds of of what I imagine a mermaids tail to look like up close.

Have a metal cabinet you’re looking to decorate with art and photos of boybands but need to find magnets? I’ve got some pretty cool ones for you. I recently got a 10 pack of Neodymium Magnets to try out and I have to say these are a lot of fun.  They have heavy duty magnetization made with a triple coating of nickel, copper and nickel, they offer a nice shine to them that will resist rust.  Each of the round magnets has an internal gauss rating of 13,5000 gauss and an 8.3 pound holding power that features both direct touch and pull abilities.  If you’re looking to hang some heavier items from the magnets – it shouldn’t be a problem. I love all sorts of cute jewelry and I had been looking for something to represent Connecticut for my upcoming trip to Tulsa, OK for Hanson Day Weekend.  I am the Street Team Leader for Connecticut so I thought it would be an easy way for people to see where I was from!   I am also allergic to a lot of different metals so the fact that this one was Stainless Steel was appealing to me as well. I really love that the chain can be adjusted to whatever size you would like (within reason) so if you’d like it shorter or longer you have that choice and you can change it day-to-day depending on your outfit.  The only down side to this product was that it came from China so it took quite some time to get to me and I was nervous that it wouldn’t make it to me before I left for my trip! (I am so glad that it did!)  Unfortunately that made this review very late, but I couldn’t very well review something that I didn’t have in hand yet!

Review: HONCARDO Hard-shell Luggage

As I have mentioned before, I have a big trip coming up!  I have been debating getting some hard-shell luggage for a while now, so when I saw the HONCARDO Hard-Shell luggage I just had to check it out.  This is a set of 3 different sized suitcases – 20″, 24″ and 28″.  I believe only the smallest one will count as a carry-on sized luggage and the other two would need to be checked, I would have preferred if the second one was more in the 21-22″ inch range to be a larger carry-on sized bag but that’s ok. The yellow and navy color reminded me of minions and I am kind of half tempted to modify the luggage to make them look more like minions!

All 3 of the suitcases came packed inside each other, like Russian nesting dolls which will be great for when they need to be stored.  They also each have a TSA approved zipper lock on them. I haven’t really played around with that too much yet though.  They seem to have a lot more room than my cloth sided luggage and I love how one side has a zipper close so you can really stuff in a lot and then hold it all in there while the other side has straps that can be criss-crossed to hold things in.  Throw in some packing cubes on that side and you are good to go! I am not sure how I will adjust to it having no outside pockets, but that is the price to pay for a hard shell case.  They are also very light, weighing in at under 4lbs each for the 2 larger sizes and under 3 for the smaller one (based on my hand held luggage scale, nothing scientific)  I also really like that they have 360 spinner wheels as I refuse to use any luggage that doesn’t! They are just so much more convenient for me with the spinner wheels.

Product Review: Tonor Condenser Recording Microphone E-3000 #tonor

A friend and I have been tossing around the idea of starting a podcast.  Of course neither of us have any idea what we are doing, but we know we need a microphone to get started!  I was recently contacted by TONOR and given their TONOR Condenser Recording Microphone kit so that we can get started trying things out. (No promises on if a podcast will actually ever see the light of day because during one of our sessions of throwing ideas around we said “So what will we do other than just laugh at each other” and no one will want to listen to that…)

The microphone kit is an all in one set – it includes the best microphone for streaming and all the cables that you need as well as a shock mount and suspension arm with a built in cable, the pop filter, power supply and a USB sound card.  The microphone features extended frequency range and is finished in black and rugged metal case with a pure aluminum coated head.  The suspension arm is sturdy and durable and height adjustable.  It is easily attached to my computer desk and I can adjust it to have it out of the way when I am not using it, or in place in front of my mouth when I am using it.  The microphone kit also comes with a 12-month repair warranty service.

The microphone is compatible with both the PC and Mac computers, though I have mine set up to be used on my PC and have not yet tried it on my Mac.  All I had to do after putting everything together was plug it into the USB drive on my computer and I was pretty much set to start recording to my heart’s content.  It really couldn’t be much easier! (Although I did have a moment where the speakers got set to something else as default and couldn’t hear any playback, but that was a simple switch in the playback devices setup on the PC)

Although this kit didn’t come with any instructions on how to put it together, it was pretty intuitive as everything only seemed to fit together one way.

Product Review: Christmas Santa Seat Cover

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! At least in your bathroom.  This is great decoration for the holiday season – it comes with 4 pieces – toilet cover, rug, tank cover and tissue box cover.  This fits most toilet seats. It did take some effort for me to get the toilet cover on and off, but it looked great even though my toilet was not the style it is designed for.

Product Review: Russell Stover Every Day Chocolate

Through BzzAgent i had the chance to try out some chocolate for FREE! Russell Stover has a new Every Day Chocolate line. I was able to get a bag of their individually wrapped chocolates which contained mint patty, coconut, caramel and pecan delight candies as well as a back of Crunchy Carmel Bark.  Each I tried was even better than the last and I have to say that I give this line of chocolate two giant thumbs up, even though in the past I have been on the fence about Russell Stover’s chocolates.  The assorted bag being individually wrapped was perfect – you knew what you were grabbing and no guessing game with which chocolate was what like it is in the boxes (and no one poking their finger into all of them to try and find out!)  The bark lived up to its name – it was crunchy! And quite delicious.
