TOP OF THE CHARTS

Ringo and Paul relax back at the George V hotel in Paris after their first show at the Olympia.  Despire the less than ecstatic response from both crowd and press, they now had greater things on their minds. That night, the news had come through from America that their single “I Want to Hold Your Hand” had reached number one on the Stateside charts.  America was in an elevated state of anticipation for the band’s arrival, and Cashbox magazine was predicting that the Beatles, “Could change te whole thinking of American companies towards British records.”
