Nail Art Stickers

My latest favorite thing to do is to paint my nails. So naturally, when I found out that there were nail art stickers I had to check them out because you all know that I looove stickers. I was sent a sheet of cute little flowers to try out. They arrived promptly even though they came to me from the UK. (the image above is a stock photo, not the ones I received)

I picked alternating Orange and Pink nailpolish because I thought that would go the best with the colors of the flowers I was sent.  After waiting to make sure my nails were definitely dry (I have a problem with doing things too soon after painting and ending up with ridiculous chips) I started to try and peel the stickers off.  Since they were so tiny and I was trying to be careful, the first couple were a bit difficult to get off the sheet.  Once I got going though, it was a lot easier to peel and stick!

I didn’t really have a rhyme or reason to the placement I did, I just wanted to make sure I had at least 1 sticker on each finger.  They are small enough that you can probably fit 3, maybe even 4 on a nail (depending on how big your nails are, mine are tiny) and not have it look too crowded.

Just one tip though – make sure you press down hard on them after you stick them on your nail.  I didn’t and ended up losing one when I put my hands through my hair. Lesson learned!

I think that nail art stickers are great addition to spruce up nail polish colors you may think are getting boring!

Ristorante Pizza

Recently, since I am a bzzagent, I got the chance to try out 2 flavors of Ristorante Pizza for free.  I didn’t go too crazy with my choices – but tried mozzarella and quatro formagio.  Both of these tasted great and were low enough in calories that I could eat 1/3 (recommended serving size) or 1/2 of the pizza myself and not feel guilty for indulging.

The crust is thin, it cuts easily and I was not at all overwhelmed or underwhelmed by the amount of toppings on the pizza.  It was just right!

There are more great toppings to choose from and I will definitely be buying some more in the future!  Check if your local grocer stocks Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza and see for yourself how great it is!

Birthday Chronicle Review & Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.comAre you looking for a great present for a milestone birthday? Look no further than  a Birthday Chronicle from Because I Tried It! They offer a wide variety of Personalized Gifts for Anyone, Anytime

My aunt is going to be turning 65 in May (don’t worry, she doesn’t have a computer (yet) so she won’t be able to find this post!) and I wasn’t sure what to get her, until I stumbled across Because I Tried It’s Birthday Chronicle.  The Birthday Chronicle looks like the front page of a Newspaper, and has the recipient’s birthday on it in multiple places.  Each “article” on the paper has something to do with the person whose birthday it is either with that day or that year. It is really cool!

I also received the Chronicle in less than 24 hours from when I emailed the information I wanted.  It arrived as a PDF and I printed it on some fancy paper to make it look more like a newspaper and less like something I printed on regular printer paper.  Once I toss it in a frame, it’ll look perfect for gift-giving!

For my headline – I chose “JoJo is 65!” and the articles include:

President Truman Notes Birth of Jojo (as he was president when she was born)
Celebrities share May 20th Birthday
Yankees Win 1947 World Series
Congress Debates Consumer Prices
News Around The World Making Headlines in 1947
The 20th Annual Academy Awards
Music, Music, Music The Top Hits of ’47
Chinese Celebrate Year of The Pig

Here is a sample of what you will receive:

Review: QwikShower & Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.comQwikShower wipes used to be just for gym class – but not anymore!  They are great pocket sized wipes that are actually the size of a washcloth when opened and unfolded that can go with you anywhere and clean you up in any situation!  Gym class? Yoga? Camping? (In the wilderness or for a front row spot at a concert!)

The wipes are really large and work very similarly to a washcloth, they don’t easily rip or tear (well, they might if you get a bit rough with them).  They smell really fresh and don’t have a scent that boys might be embarrassed to smell like.  They are also wet enough to get the job done, but not too wet that it drips all over (like a washcloth might).

QWIKSHOWER.COM is a small (very small), family owned business originating at Sherwood High School in Olney, Maryland.

QwikShower will be giving a pack of wipes to a lucky Concert Katie reader! Simply use the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  If you’d rather not try your luck, you can request a sample for $1 at their website: http://www.qwikshower.com/checkout-free-sample.php

Healthy Eating For Kids

Are your children picky eaters? Are you trying to add more variety to their diet but aren’t sure how? Look no further than Healthy Eating For Kids – a new recipe book containing 60 recipes which have fun names and appeal to your children’s imagination.

“Healthy Eating For Kids” was written with the busy family in mind. Most recipes can be prepared in 15 minutes or less, which is less time than you might spend waiting in line for a hamburger and fries.

The recipes break down to 6 different categories including:
-Snacks
-Drinks
-Lunch at Home
-Packed Lunches for School
-Evening Meals at Home
-Desserts

While I don’t have any children, I could probably benefit from eating a bit healthier myself, and I am looking forward to using some of these recipes for my lunches at work! I read a review at ANIPOTS on the book, and I think it will be right up my alley. I particularly enjoyed the Bacon and Egg Salad, Open-Faced Quesadillas and Tuna Fish in Pita Pockets (I forgot how fun pita pockets were!) and am looking forward to trying to make the Banana Milkshake and Taco Stuffed Potatoes! (as well as some others as well but I won’t bore you with my lunch wish list!)

Each recipe is designed to include vitamins, minerals and macronutrients that your child needs to stay healthy, strong, focused and energetic. We’ve put an emphasis on ideas that:
-Are healthy
-Contain nutrients that are difficult to add to a child’s diet
-Fast and easy for parents to make
-Use ingredients that most households have on hand
-Encourage your child to get involved with his or her nutritionI received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Slice Safety Cutter

The Slice Safety cutter is a great alternative to scissors for couponers or scrapbookers! The ceramic blade stays sharp, never rusts and is made with a finger friendly design.   The slice safety cutter safely clips, cuts and opens. Opens difficult packages, perfect for CDs or DVDs, scrapbooking, coupons or recipes.  It also has a build in key ring hole and magnet to keep it either with you on your keys or on the fridge in a handy place so it won’t get lost!

My favorite feature of the cutter is that you can’t cut your finger! (Well, maybe you can if you try hard enough but that is one challenge I am not about to try!)  One of my newer scrapbooking tools I have used only once or twice because the first time I tried to use it, I sliced my finger open.  It wasn’t a deep cut, more like a big paper cut, but man did that sting and take a while to heal back up!  With the Slice Safety Cutter, I don’t have to worry about accidentally slicing my finger open while I am trimming pieces for my scrapbook pages.

My second favorite feature is the key ring hole!  I am notorious for misplacing my scissors.  I keep saying I need to get a hook to hang them on when I am not using them.  I tied a string through the hole on the Slice safety cutter and hang it on the lamp near my scrapbook table when I am not using it. I also have a magnetic strip in my room for my magnet collection, but it isn’t close enough to be helpful.  But I did however try out the magnet on the strip and it worked out quite well for anyone who might want to keep theirs on the fridge or a magnetic strip closer to the scrapbooking table :).

As far as cutting, there is no problem going through glossy coupon paper or thin printer paper.  When it comes to scrapbooking, it doesn’t cut cleanly through thicker card stock. It also works great on photos.

CD Review: Groove Kid Nation Music in Motion

Groove Kid Nation’s CD “Music in Motion” helps to bring together parents and children with grooovy Kid’s Songs.  This mostly original set draws kids into the action with specific instructions on what to do from funny dances, to playing air guitar, to responding to musical cues, to simply nodding their head o the beat.

An entirely new band of feline characters known as the Kool Katz guide the fun, and the enclosed 10-page booklet features colorful illustrations of each Kool Kat playing their own instrument.
I think this CD would be a hit with both children and adults alike.  The music is really great, so parents won’t be embarrassed if the CD happens to turn on when you’re in your car with your coworkers or other adults.  The songs also help teach kids about musical instruments and are a great way to keep them active as many of the songs encourage the kids to dance or run around depending on if the instrument in question is being played low or high.h some groooovy Kid’s Songs.   Along with the CD, also included is a 10 page

illustrated booklet that shows all the Kool Katz and their instruments to help teach your child learn about music.

Groove Kid Nation is the brainchild of veteran record producer and keyboardist Rodney Lee.  With over 20 years of experience in the music business as a  touring sideman, record producer, and recording artist, Rodney is applying his talents to the realm of children’s music. (Bio taken from http://groovekidnation.com/about.html)

The Untitled Jersey City Project

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Untitled Jersey City Project for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

UNT_091311_Title_bmb_v01.ai (1 page)The Untitled Jersey City Project is 8 short-form episode fragments of a larger story, with many threads left unresolved. But from the 8 episodes, this much is clear – The story is set amidst the fast-developing Jersey City waterfront, just across the river from Manhattan.  A shining new city is being built on the edge of this gritty town. But while the glass office towers and condos are sleek and new, the rules of the game haven’t changed one bit. Everyone here has something to gain – money, fame, power. Or they can lose big. Or they could end up dead.

When I first saw that the preview was only 35 seconds long, I thought there was no way that I could end up being interested in this based on just that much of a preview. I was wrong.  While I don’t recognize any of the actors (though a lot of them went by quickly) there seems to be a lot of action and storylines going on in this series and enough to keep anyone interested.  Don’t be discouraged by the fact that the video is short – if you watch it I am sure that you will be interested in the show too! Leave a comment with why you think you’ll be checking out the Untitled Jersey City Project below!
