Love With Food Box – June

20140614_153928

June’s Love with Food box’s theme was “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and definitely hit it out of the park with me!  Pretty much all the items got me excited when I opened the box, but I had to hold back and not eat everything in one sitting.  I did that a few months back and it was NOT a good idea!

Pineapple, Raspberry and Mango Fruit Snacks by YumEarth Organics
Welcome the summer sunshine with these fun tropical snacks made with real fruit extracts and no gluten, dairy, nuts or soy

These Fruit Snacks certainly were yummy! I’d definitely buy these again for a snack.

Gum Balls by Tree Hugger Gum
Pro ball teams can chomp through over 10 cases of gum a season, but we’d recommend this all-natural, vegan,Non-GMO version for your next chew

Loved this gum ball. It was orange and tasted orange and it blew AWESOME bubbles.

Cheddar Baked Fries by Snikiddy
Skip the lines for garlic fries and try these all-natural, non-GMO, baked cheddar fries – with all the flavor but half the fat of traditional friend snacks.

Ate a couple of these and went “YUCK” and then of course no one else was willing to try them after that.

Snap Back Cookie by The Cookie Department
Whenever it’s time to get your game face on, the natural detoxifiers in these cookies will help you snap to attention

Cookie was super fresh right out of the packaging and almost as good as the ones my grandmother used to make! (almost)

Chicago Mix by G.H. Cretors
Shake up this bag before opening for a combination of sweet and salty that knocks it outta the park

These are my 2 favorite flavors of popcorn when I get those big giant tins so I loved that it was just the two of them mixed together in this bag!

Montmorency Cherries by Stoneridge Orchards
These dried cherries have the perfect tart bite, and have been grown in the USA by the same family of farmers for generations

Mom tried these and liked them

Good For You Granola, Almond Butter & Jelly Sandwich by Jolly Oak
You’ll be ready to swing for the fences after starting your day with this all-natural, non-GMO superfood granola

Mom tried these and was not impressed.

Chocolate Cookies by Dulcetto
Whether it’s game day or just Tuesday, you don’t need a special occasion to indulge in this 100-calorie pack of crispy creamy cookies

These were probably the best chocolate cookies I’ve ever had. And at only 100 calories per pack? Amazing.

Honeybush Caramel, Southern Mint, and Tropical Green Teas by Revolution Tea
These flavor full-leaf teas are made with select herbs, real fruit pieces, essential oils and all natural flavors.
At the time of writing I havent tried these teas yet.

Tarallino Snack with Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Terre Di Puglia
The Kentucky Derby was first raced in 1875, but Italian Tarelli has been around much longer; 6 simple ingredients that pairs great with any beverage.
These were great snacks after the concert in Tulsa. Crunchy and tasted great.

Tropical Peach Drink Mix by Flavrz Organic
Speaking of beverages, add a southern flair to your daily water intake with this peach water enhancer – it’s organic, it’s non-GMO, and it will change your outlook on hydration
Mom tried this one and thought that it was a bit watered down even after following the directions, but she liked the peach flavor and said “if you like peach, you will love it!”

Sweet Potato Chips by one Potato Two Potato
Packed with beta-carotene and vitamin A, these non-GMO sweet potato chips will have you cheering!
These chips were SO good that I think I’m going to have to buy more. I love all things sweet potato and these did not disappoint.

Key Lime Cookies by J&M
Made with only the best ingredients, these tea cookies strike the perfect balance between tart and sweet
These were certainly the perfect balance between tart and sweet and also had the perfect amount in the bag for an after the show snack.

Giddy Up & Go Grande
Start your day on the right hoof with this gluten-free granola… and you’re off!
This granola I tried for breakfast when flying to Tulsa and couldn’t eat more than a few bites because it tasted like nothing. I was bummed.

Hickory Smoked Sea Salt by The Spice Lab
A true taste of the south, this salt has been smoked over premium hickory hard wood to add instant smoky BBQ flavor to any dish or snack
At the time of writing we didn’t try this out yet.

Italian Black Truffle Salt by The Spice Lab
Debry divas are known for their classy hats, now you can class up your snacks with the singularly delicious taste of prized black truffles.
At the time of writing we didn’t try this out yet.

Love with Food – April

IMAG0423

This month was another fun Love with Food box.  If you’d like to purchase a subscription – please consider doing so through my affiliate link (click the Snack Smart, Do Good icon!)  This month seemed to have a bit of a Honey theme going with it – and I have to say that I was not complaining about that!

Orchard Blend by Sensible Foods – Enjoy these crunch-dried apples, peaches and apricots while picturing the orchards in bloom.

Mom tried this and said that the apricots were her favorite.

Heart-tee by Wild Hibiscus Flower Co – A tangy deep-red floral tea, rumored to lower anxiety & stress, among other health benefits

Also one of the items Mom tried – she said it was nasty and she couldn’t finish it and had to throw it out.

Creamed Honey with Chocolate Mint by Vintage Bee – Honey is packed with natural energy – enjoy this chocolate mint enhanced version any time of day you need a pick-me-up

Wasn’t sure about the combination of Honey/Chocolate/Mint and I was right to be concerned.  Way too overpowering with the mint!

Almonds with Cranberries, Honey + Sea Salt by Sahale Snacks – This salty-sweet protein packed treat is just the thing to keep you going on a day out planting your garden

Mom tried this as well and was pleased with it.

Popcorn by Crave Canyon – The average American eats 54 quarts of popcorn a year – this uniquely flavored, non-GMO popcorn will give you a reason to be above average.

I was a bit unsure about this flavor combo – White Cheddar popcorn is my absolute favorite and I wasn’t sure if Chile was going to make it hot (not a fan of hot), however it was a great addition in flavor to the popcorn and I have to say I’m a fan.

Honey Waffle by Meli – This traditional Belgian street fare features creamy honey filling sandwiched between crispy waffles

This was by far the best item in this months box. Would certainly buy this again!

Fiordifrutta Organic Fruit Spread by Rigoni Di Asiago – These delicious fruit spreads are slow cooked with absolutely no added sugar to preserve the nutrients of the natural fruit

Very tasty fruit spread and something I’d consider buying again.

Organic Energy Bar by BumbleBar – Nuts, sesame, flax, vanilla & cinnamon join forces in this deliciously chewy gluten free snack.

Loved this bar as well. I love sesame seed but never realized you could eat so much of it at once in the form of a bar.  Will have to pick up some of these if I see them as well!

Snack Olives by Mario Camacho
I am not an olive fan – so I had my Mom try these. She approved, though thought there was a bit too much garlic.
Dark Chocolate Crepe Dentelle by Gavottes
Two thumbs up on anything with chocolate.

Restaurant Style White Bean Chip by Beanitos
These I wanted to try w/ salsa or queso and then when I was finally ready to eat them they were gone! Mom ate them because I took to long to.. and said they were good.
Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries by Emily’s Chocolate
Mom snagged these as well and enjoyed them.

Honey Graham Sticks by Back to Nature
Dad got these as he is our resident Honey Graham eater (and picky at that) but enjoyed them.

PureNotes Dark “Chocolatey” by TCHO
Chocolate is always good… no complaints here
“Mokaccino” SeriousMilk Chocolate + Blue Bottle Coffee by TCHO
Did not try this
Chocolate Chip Biscotti by Biscotti di Suzy
Two thumbs up on the biscotti as well.

Love With Food January Box

January’s Love with Food box was another great box of treats! Here are my thoughts on the items:

Banana Split Baby Mama Drama from Mama’s Magic Mix
This low-cal Banana Split mix is as naughty as it is nice!

For something being called Banana Split Mix – it had only a couple of bananas in it.  Otherwise it was really good, I really liked the caramel puffs.

Pretzo Change-O and Original Milk Chocolate Squares from Jer’s Chocolates
These bite size treats are great when you need a little something sweet.

I enjoyed both of these, the combination of pretzel and chocolate is great. (Though typically I won’t eat just pretzels)

Chocolate Chip Cookies from Home Free
These cookies are so tasty that it’s hard to believe they are free of gluten, peanuts, tree nuts, egg and dairy!

I was a little nervous to try these because I’ve heard of gluten free things tasting like cardboard.  These cookies did not taste like cardboard, in fact they were great! I was sad when the bag was gone.

Superfood Chews from Lovely Candies
The perfect mix of real fruit bits and sweetness makes these candies quite Lovely indeed!

As of the writing of this post, we have not tried these candies.

Columbia Supremo from Caffe Borsa
What better way to wake up than with a perfect cup of pour over coffee!

Another one we haven’t tried as of the writing of this post.

Orange Fruit Bars from Oskri
This low-cal orange bar is a great way to sneak fruit into your diet!

My mom tried this one and said it was “the wettest bar she ever had” despite the fact that it had dried fruit in it.

Organic Berry Berrys Granola Bar from Annie’s Homegrown
The perfect bar for everyone in the family, these 100% organic bars contain 8g of whole grains per serving.

Mom tried this one too, and enjoyed it more than the orange bar.

Lightly Salted Almonds from Blue Diamond Almonds
You can enjoy these almonds without worrying about breaking your resolve to cut down on salt.

Yummy and a great snack.

Multi-Grain Sea Salt Skinny Sticks from Hi I’m Skinny
A grain based snack that brings you a heart healthy treat.

These tasted like one of my favorite snacks – Buggles! Not as fun to play with, but taste just as great and probably a more healthy alternative. (They are sticks and so you can’t make creepy witch fingers with them haha)

Love With Food December Box

lovewithfoodDECE

December brought another yummy love with food box.

Spinach Dip Mix by Desert Gardens Chile & Spice Company

The package for this came with a bit different recipe than I am used to (mix + sour cream + mayo) but it was very good with some chips and probably would have been even better as a bread dip.

Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips by Food Should Taste Good

LOVE all things sweet potato and these were no exception.  So tasty!

Natural Crips by 34 Degrees

At the time of writing this review I have not yet tried these.

Molasses Spice Cookies by Grey Ghost Bakery

Definitely the spiciest molasses cookies I had ever had, but two thumbs up!

Peppermints by St. Claire’s Organics

Very strong mints! Very good mints!

Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa by Lindt & Sprungli

Can not go wrong with chocolate or lindt!

Chocolate en Poudre by Les Confitures a l’Ancienne

The darkest in color hot chocolate Ive ever seen.  The least flavor I’ve ever tasted

Chocolate Dipper Madeleine by Donsuemor

Very yum! Would probably go great with a coffee.

Maddy Melts by Madyson’s Marshmallows

This was awesome! It is a round marshmallow so it fits right on top of your hot chocolate and then melts into some gooey marshmallowy goodness. Two thumbs up and I’d definitely consider purchasing this again.

Dark Angell Crisp Bar by Betty Lou’s

This one got snagged by the parents but they both said that it was good!

Goodies Box October

After I received my October Goodies Box I found out that they were discontinuing the program and that this would be my last box.  They have recommended another company that I can switch to if I’d like, but I’m still not sure I want to. (It is a bit more money too)  So here is my thoughts on what will be the last Goodies Box.

Latte Coffee Thins

by Tierra Nueva Cocoa

Step aside, chocolate, there’s a new treat in town. With as much caffeine as a real cup of joe, Coffee Thins provide a sweet, natural pick-me-up.These did not have much taste of chocolate and a strong coffee after taste.

Chocolate Sunbutter

by Enjoy Life

Enjoy the decadent flavor of a peanut butter cup in convenient gluten- and nut-free bar form. Chocolate and sunflower seed butter make a sweet combo.
Didn’t taste much like a peanut butter cup to me, but it was a good healthy snack alternative.

Espresso Coffee Thins

by Tierra Nueva Cocoa

Step aside, chocolate, there’s a new treat in town. With as much caffeine as a real cup of joe, Coffee Thins provide a sweet, natural pick-me-up.
Felt the same about this one as the latte one. Very waxy, not a lot of chocolate flavor

Spiced Tea Latte

by Caffe D’Vita

Just add water and a fragrant, creamy, warmly spiced chai latte is yours to sip and savor instantly. Try it hot, iced or blended, you’ll be hooked. The description is right. I’m hooked! Definitely loved it.

Original Praline Chocolate

by Guylian

These irresistible chocolate seashells are filled with a luxuriously rich & creamy chocolate truffle; the original recipe of Guy & Liliane.
love love loved these!

Greek Yogurt

by Happy Family

A sweet medley of fruit mingles with creamy Greek yogurt in this deliciously convenient, calcium- and Vitamin D-rich squeeze pouch. Tasty at any age.
Was a bit freaked out at first because it was BROWN in color, but once I ignored that and actually tasted it, it was really, really good.

Love with Food box November

lovewithfood

Once Goodies went out of business, they suggested that we try out Love with Food instead.  They are a bit more expensive, but for the first month they offered a discount to Goodies.co members.  The nice part about Love with Food is that with every box sent, a meal is donated to a hungry child which is what swayed me to sign up for this box now!  The November box included:

Kukuruza Tuxedo Popcorn
Green & Black’s Organic Dark 70% Chocolate
Maple Walnut Fudge
Ginger Twist Tea
Almond, Apricot and Yoghurt Bar
Sweet Corn Crunk
Organic Bhindi Masala
Gluten Free Sweet Potato PopChips
Rosemary & Pink Sea Salt Shortbread

If you are interested in trying the box for yourself- sign up now! (This is my referral link, I will receive points for every subscription I refer)

Goodies Box September

My September Goodies Box had a bit of a journey to get to me.  It got shipped out before I moved, but arrived after I moved so then it had to get forwarded and apparently they don’t pay to forward packages so we had to pay $9.14 to pick it up. (When the box is $7 to begin with) So that kind of stunk, but I wanted to try all the goodies so we paid the ransom.

Chocolate Stuffed Marshmallows

by Gud-Fud

Sweet tooth? Can’t beat this! No fat, no trans fat and 50 calories per package. These marshmallows are stuffed with chocolate for a great snack.

I thought these were good, but you barely tasted the chocolate, it was a bit overpowered by marshmallow.  Nice and bite sized though

Sun Dried Tomato, Basil & Feta

by Kashi

Sweet sundried tomato, tangy feta and bright basil add Mediterranean flair to air-popped chickpea crisps. They’re equally delicious and nutritious.

Thought that the flavoring on this one was a bit over powering, but still good enough to eat.

Thyme

by MJM Distributors

Rich and sweet with floral flavor and aroma, this pure honey is made with thyme flowers grown on the Greek Isles. Add nature’s sweetness to your day.
This was excellent honey!

Lemon

by Nestle Pure Life

Purified water combined with a delicious “splash” of natural lemon flavor. This zero-calorie drink is the perfect alternative to soda.
I liked that it was 0 calories and not just boring old water, but the lemon flavoring was a bit too strong.

Savory Tea

by Numi Tea

Skip the milk and honey; this is not your typical tea. Made with veggies, herbs and decaf tea, it’s a robust beverage that’s savory and substantial.

This tea scares me – Tomato Mint? So I’ve yet to try it.

Gimbal’s Scottie Dogs Licorice

by Gimbal’s

Soft, chewy and sweet, these adorable dog-shaped candies are bursting with the bold flavor of licorice root and pure anise.Pretty big dogs, but good.

Fuji Apple Chips

by Bare Fruit

Slowly baked in a wood-burning oven to intensify the natural flavor of Fuji apples, these chips are sweet, crisp and satisfying.
2 thumbs up on these.

Goodies Box August

IMAG0143

It’s that time again the August Goodies box has come and gone… here are my thoughts:

IMAG0145

Poplets – Sea Salt & Butter

They are basically corn kernels.  I prefered the ones that were kind of popped to the ones that weren’t at all – these are the things I avoid at the bottom of the popcorn bag.  My mom on the other hand loved the few I let her try.

IMAG0148Cafe Blues

by Barnie’s Coffee

Enjoy the taste of coffee with caramel, pecan and cinnamon notes. Mix into water and coffee is ready– pronto.
This was easy to make and smelled SO good.  The black coffee was super strong but once you put in milk and sugar (or however you take your coffee) it was great! Not sure how practical of an item it is (I don’t think it would travel well in a purse, for instance) but great for home use
IMAG0150

Mango Blackcurrant

by Ojo Nectar

Just wait until you see how good this stuff is. It’s tropical fruit juice that’s sweet, refreshing and helps protect and preserve eye health.
This was a lot better than I was expecting, a really strong mango flavor.
IMAG0147

Wild Fruit

by Morris National Inc.

This rainbow-colored, tart and chewy candy has a sugary coating that restores balance to your puckered palateI am not a fan of sour candy by any means (I’ll usually try it, make all sorts of crazy faces and then that is it for me) However I did not think that these were sour or tart in any way.  They were good and I had no problem eating the whole bag without any silly faces!

IMAG0149

Veggie Chips

by Snyder’s

These delicious chips put a healthy spin on a traditionally not-so-healthy snack. Crisp & crunchy, you’ll find yourself craving your veggies.I didn’t have a chance to try these before my mom snagged them!  She said that they were good and not salty like other chips so she liked them.

Hidden Valley Ranch Sunflower Seeds

by Thanasi

Huge sunflower seed get plump and meaty in their shell as they roast. Tossed in tangy buttermilk ranch, they’re powerfully flavorful and fun to munch.Another item that was snagged, but I did try it.  I’m not a huge ranch fan but I found that the flavoring was just powerful enough without making it too much for me as a non-ranch fan. Love sunflower seeds though – especially at ball games!
