Midnight Red at DDML

Friday afternoon boyband Midnight Red did a performance in the Dunkin Donuts Music Lounge.  I really didn’t know much about them but I have a few friends who absolutely love them so I figured it would be worth it to check them out.  The 5 guys did a chat and live performance where they performed Rihanna’s Diamonds, Bruno Mars Treasure and their latest single, Take me Home (available on iTunes now!)  They won me over when they said that even though they toured with NKOTB and BSB they really love NSYNC and hold them as the pinnacle of boybands.  They also said if the Spice Girls got back together they’d want to work with them or working with their label mate Katy Perry would be cool as well.

They’ll be heading out on the road this fall with Austin Mahone on the east coast.  Unfortunately it looks like I won’t be able to make it to any of the dates but if you can be sure to check them out!

After the performance we got to do photos with the guys and they were saying how they liked my shoes.  When I told them I designed them myself they asked if I used Nike ID and I said yes and then they asked if I could design them shoes too! haha.

Here I am intently watching them during the chat. We weren’t allowed to take any photos so I just tried to take it all in and stole a few from KC101’s site for the scrapbook 😉

Mixtape Festival Day 2

After the broomball game we hung out in the car for a bit and heard some of the Jonas Brothers soundcheck.  We then went to Chocolate World to kill time before night 2.  We knew that it was predicted to rain, so we grabbed our rain coats and headed in to the stadium.

MKTO kicked off the show.

Emblem 3 was up next.  About 2 songs into their set they told us that lightning was in the forecast and that we had to go under the stands for our safety while it passed.

We were underneath for about an hour and it was ridiculous because there was no room for people to move yet everyone was trying to get somewhere else.  I was also told I was too young to know Boyz II Men songs. LOL, I’ll take it. (Turns out I was older than the people who said that to me.)

Emblem 3 continued their set at 7:15 and the show just went on from there – but it was still raining. We were all SOAKED.

Boyz II Men came out next and I think they did a bit of a modified set compared to what they did on The Package Tour (we figured if everyone cut a song or two from their sets, everything could kind of stay on schedule)  We spotted Zac Hanson checking them out on the side of the stage in the beginning of the set too and then he went into the gold VIP side stage area to take some pics.

Jonas Brothers played what seemed to be the longest set ever – and I’m a fan. I don’t know, they seemed to just never end and I was soggy and pruney and just wanted to get the show moving.  They sang Thats Just The Way We Roll – Joe didn’t change the lyric from Hanson and I thought for sure they’d come out, but Kevin just pointed off in the back of the stage where I assume at least one of them was watching the set.

TLC’s reunion was next.  They started off with some technical issues with TBoz’s mic but then they seemed to get everything worked out. Before Waterfalls they said that it was a song that meant a lot to Lisa Left Eye Lopes and had us all hold up lighters, cell phones, etc in honor of Lisa.  The stadium lit up and it looked so beautiful!  Most people held them up for the whole song.  They had all of Left Eye’s raps on a track.  It was a bittersweet set because I loved TLC growing up, but never had the chance to see them until now.  They said that they will never replace her but that they wanted to move on and continue to make music and share with everyone.

NKOTB was up next and they also did a more modified set from The Package Tour. It was a ton of fun and during Tonight, Danny and Joe walked right by the ADA seating and we got to shake Joe’s hand!

We were hoping that all the bands would come out on stage again, but that didn’t happen.  And by that point we were freezing and soggy so we just decided to leave.

All in all it was a fun weekend and I hope that Hanson goes back again next year!

Mixtape Festival Day 1

For Day 1 of Mixtape Festival we did Silver VIP because it was HANSON day.  At 1pm we were treated to a “meet and mingle” BBQ where we were told some of the artists might show up.  In hopes that Hanson would be there, we were ready to go at 1.  We got our food, which was really good and ate it and then just kind of hung out because Hanson’s acoustic performance wasn’t until 3:00.

One of the photographers came by and said that One Republic, Hanson and Gavin DeGraw would be coming out before 3 to see us.  We heard the photographers talking and they were going to do candid shots and shots of us as a table w/ the artists.  The first to arrive were One Republic and The Script. They had them start on opposite sides of the picnic tables so we got The Script s the 2nd table. They all came around and shook everyone’s hand and were super nice.  It was REALLY hot and they all had on long pants and were just not dressed for the temps and they said that they were told it was going to be inside and Danny said “I’m melting like a snowman in hell!” (which he later said on stage too lol)

Then Hanson came and I kind of waved and Zac came over so they started with our table.  It seriously felt like we talked to them FOR-EV-ER.  I had the chance to get my CD cover signed (and a “fight” with Zac over using his black pen to sign the inside white pages or use my silver pen to sign the cover!) by all 3 of them, chatted with them about BBQ, Rollercoasters and tour which led into a chat about setlist databases which is actually what I’ve been coding for my hanson fan site (hansonstage.com) for the past year or so, so I got to tell Isaac about that!  Then we did our table photo (really can’t wait to see the 2 photos!!) and they made their way around.

We decided we’d rather get a spot in the VIP tent for the acoustic Hanson performance than hang around for One Republic or Gavin (who I think did eventually make his way out there) and got a spot on the barricade (it was separated for Gold and Silver VIP) and they did 6 or 7 songs.

We hung out in the VIP tent for a while and headed over when Serena Ryder had already taken the stage.  I liked how she mentioned who she was after almost every song because she knew that people were still filing in to the stadium.  It always makes me crazy when people NEVER say who they are!  She has a new album coming out soon and had a lot of really fun songs!

Then it was time for Hanson! Taylor seemed to be running around the stage a bit more than usual – which was a plus.  They had a pretty solid setlist too.  The only downside was where our seats were, Taylor was blocking Zac for most of the show.  I got super excited when Zac came over to the keys to play Juliet… but a photographer decided that she REALLY, REALLY wanted to get my photo and was taking pics of me nearly the whole song which was super awkward. I don’t even remember what outlet she was with so if you see me out there somewhere… let me know lol

Gavin DeGraw was up next and he always puts on a great show. He has such great stage presence.  I did snap a photo of his setlist before he started but it’s been such a hectic (but fun!) weekend, I didnt have time to upload any photos yet so that info is still-to-come.  He had Ryan from One Republic come out and sing a song with him too.

Next up was The Script who I was excited to see because they were the only act from the day that I had not yet saw!  Danny was absolutely nuts going in the crowd, running all over the stage, climbing over all sorts of things and I loved it. He tried to make everyone feel closer by going in the stands which was awesome. (Gavin went in the crowd as well.) I also snapped a pic of their setlist so that is coming at some point as well!

Then it was time for One Republic. It is crazy how many freaking hits they have and how they can make nearly an entire setlist out of them (and probably then some!) Ryan said that he, Danny and Gavin (who are all on tour together) have all been having throat issues and 2 days ago he had no voice at all so he’d be drinking tea throughout the show.  He teased that they all hired the guy who worked with Milli Vinilli for their recorded tracks and then made it sound like his track was skipping!

Then it was time for the headliners, Train, who I was least excited to see.  We made a deal to stay for 3 songs and then head into the VIP Tent for the afterparty that Hanson was hosting.  The VIP tent had a feed piped in of the show so we did get to see most of it and I was not too happy with our decision to leave when Train brought up EVERYONE from the day to sing “The Weight” and Zac was right by where our seats were! Oh well, live and learn – we’d not be leaving early night 2 !

The after party was interesting.  Zac came out and danced around which really got everyone going nuts.  Then Taylor came out to do a guest DJ set and unfortunately it seemed to really fall flat.  Everyone stopped dancing, no one knew what he was playing and in order to try and redeem him, Zac came back and then actually went dancing through the crowd and seriously had to have danced with everyone there (yes, even us!)  It was great!  Ryan Tedder came in for a while and then one of the guys from MKTO (i think?) came in and when it seemed like Hanson was done for the night we decided we were too since we had to be back early for broom ball!

More posts about the weekend coming soon – hopefully with some photos but we’ll see what i have time to do 🙂

Jonas Brothers at Mohegan Sun

Tuesday night the Jonas Brothers brought their first tour in 3 years back to Connecticut to the Arena at Mohegan Sun.  The first opening act was a DJ, Mike Tompkins. I’m not a fan of DJs, but he seemed to get everyone pumped.  Next up was Karmin – who I used to hate but now love.  They did a much longer set than they had done when I saw them at the Christmas shows in December so that was great.  Plus, Amy and Nick had on matching orange outfits and I just love orange.  Then the DJ came back out again but this time instead of just mixing other songs he was going to perform all the music “with his voice” so he did some beat boxing and singing and only one original song.  A few people still seemed into him but at that point I was just ready for the Jonas Brothers to take the stage.

Then the lights went black and everyone was screaming and looking at the back of the arena.  I had no idea why.  Nick took the stage and then I could see Kevin and Joe coming down from the back sections of the arena (why does no one do this when I have seats way back there?)  Joe walked right by my section surrounded by a TON of security guards but girls still tried to grab at him.  Then all 3 took the stage and did their new single “First Time”.  Their new album, V (Five) is coming out in the fall so they did several songs that will be included on that album – which gave me an excuse to sit down every now and then because I didn’t know the songs.  Some of the new songs included Pom Poms (although this one has been released so I did know it), Found, The World, Let’s Go (Karmin joined them for this one! Very high energy) and What Do I Mean To You.  From what I’ve heard, the new album should be pretty great and I’m looking forward to it.

They did That’s Just The Way We Roll and dedicated it to the fans that have stuck with them – and yes, Joe did sing “Battle dance against Hanson” and didn’t change it.  I was worried he might since at Radio City he changed it to One Direction and apparently another night on tour he changed it to The Wanted.  He even came to my side of the stage when he sang it!  (Wondering if this weekend at Mixtape this battle dance will go down.  Hmm)

Each night fans can vote on a song they want to hear and for Uncasville the song of the night was Inseparable.  Of course I couldn’t remember the name of it for the life of me when they were singing it – but I was singing along. (How does that work, anyway?)

They also threw in a couple of Nick Jonas and the Administration songs – Who I Am and Last Time Around (do those count as covers? I’ve seen girls writing them down as being covers but I don’t know if I’d count them since Nick was still performing them? Though Joe did take some verses. I don’t know.) and they also did See No More which was Joe’s solo single.

Other fan favorites were also well represented with Fly With Me, A Little Bit Longer, When You Look Me In The Eyes, Burning Up (with Big Rob via Skype) and for Still In Love With You one lucky fan got to join the guys on stage to perform it via a contest on vine – and she just so happened to be sitting in the row in front of me!

The encore of the show was Love Bug and S.O.S.

After the show it was hard not to be a sweaty mess from all the dancing and jumping (well, I didn’t jump.) that was going on throughout the show.  They had less theatrics and no catwalk with this tour which I liked, it was a bit more focused on them as a band (and their backup band) than “hey look at all the cool stuff this stage can do!” which I think takes away from the show and showing off your talents.

Action Item Dunkin Donuts Music Lounge

Monday Action Item visited the Kiss 95.7 Dunkin Donuts Music Lounge for a performance and Q&A session that was also broadcast on the internet. I was lucky enough to be 1 of 15 to win passes, although I don’t think even half the winners ended up showing up.  Oh well, they missed out on a good time!

We were brought into the lounge where the guys played 3 songs – Marching Band, Learn To Fly and Brave.  Then they did some Q&A which at times they had me cracking up.  Though only Brian and Anthony had mics, they did let Dan answer one of the questions – although Anthony had prefaced it with saying Dan doesn’t get a mic because once he starts talking he doesn’t stop.  He talked a bit about how they met up with Drake Bell and ended up crashing at his house in LA for a couple of weeks.  Of course, it ended  with Anthony confirming that is why Dan doesn’t get a mic.  They joked around a lot and I was cracking up for most of it. The things these guys come up with to say is just nuts.

After all that – we were taken in the hall to do photos with the band.  It is always great to see the guys and I was glad I was able to win my way in since I had missed Warped Tour!

Hunter Hayes at Oakdale

Saturday night, Hunter Hayes headlined a SOLD OUT show at Oakdale.  Funny story about how I got a ticket to this show.  I had seen that Country 925 was doing a presale and in it, I kept pulling up 3rd row.  I debated about it a bit but ultimately did not buy it. (It was also the night One Direction was in Hershey and I was thinking I might go down there to see them so I was torn.)  Then one morning I woke up to a “Thank you for your Purchase” email.  I had apparently used the ticket app on my phone to buy a ticket when I was half asleep one night.  I guess my subconscious REALLY wanted to go.

Cory from Country 925 came out to intro the show a bit and then said to stay tuned for what sounded like “Sarah Hayes” the girl behind me was convinced that she said “Sir Hayes” and that it would be Hunter and then was worried maybe Hunter had a girlfriend.  I guess a girlfriend who took her boyfriend’s last name or maybe they had the same last name to begin with. A girl certainly did come out to open the show and she violated my #1 rule of opening acts.  She never said her name!! She introduced her guitarist and mentioned his name was Ben multiple times through the set but never said her name.  Turns out – she is Sara Haze. (And was not wearing a wedding ring so I guess she is not married to Hunter after all, lol)  You can find out more about her at her website, http://www.sarahaze.com/

At about 8:45, Hunter took the stage.  I have the first release of his debut album, but he mentioned that he re-released it with some new songs as an encore so I was a little bit out of the loop with some of the songs.  But he did a great job at mentioning some of the song titles and I did a great job of guessing the rest – if I do say so myself. (Let’s be honest. I wrote down lyrics and googled them when I got home like I always do)

At one point he asked if it was ok that they jam a little bit – and I knew that they were going into a Justin Timberlake riff and sure enough, Hunter started singing What Goes Around.  Later, he did Wanted (and it wasn’t at the end of the show) and I debated leaving because… that’s why I was there.  I am obsessed with the song and hands down if anyone can write a song for me equal to or better than Wanted I will marry them that second. (seriously.) Fortunately I decided to stick it out because the next song he did was a cover of Maroon 5’s This Love!

Funny Maroon 5 story. I may have mentioned this before but here it goes again because it all came full circle, kind of,  Saturday night. (Though I’ll probably still continue to talk about it so I’m not even going to promise to never bring it up again.)  Back in late 2002, I went to see 2 relative unknowns perform at the same venue Hunter headlined.  John Mayer and Maroon 5 was opening.  Totally fell in love with the lead singer of Maroon 5 during the set. Totally.  After the show, the guy we had gone with comes out of the bathroom and goes “That guy from the opening act you like is in the men’s room – go in and say hi to him!”  We didn’t want to go in the Men’s room so we passed (knowing what I know NOW I’d have at least waited outside to say hi!) and I kick myself for not following through on that opportunity constantly.  Anyway, that men’s room has since been converted into a women’s room and I used it on Saturday (for the first time ever though I think it’s been converted for a while now) and sure enough – Adam Levine was in there – in poster form – advertising the show at the Meadows I can’t go to.  So, anyway, I got a kick out of that… and then when Hunter did This Love – which I believe was the Maroon 5 song that they had John Mayer come out and play on (I’d never seen a headliner join the opener before) it just seemed to be a somewhat full circle moment. (Will totally come full circle for real when I eventually do end up meeting Adam Levine – whether it be in a men’s room or otherwise)

Now that I’ve written more about Maroon 5 than Hunter… I was very surprised that his set went for so long and with very little breaks.  There was a couple of minutes before he came out for the encore but prior to that the kid just goes and goes! And he has so much energy and so many different guitars…

When I was leaving there was a guy behind me talking with his girlfriend (I assume) and he said how he didn’t know what he was getting into at first, but he enjoyed it and was surprised that he played for as long as he did.  Of course the girlfriend was all “What did you think you were going to hate it and he wasn’t going to put on a good show?” and he was like “no.. but…” and I ended up in another position in the crowd so I’m not sure what he ended up saying to that – but I mean, I felt the same way.  I obviously fell in love with him after seeing him open for Carrie Underwood – but did not expect what he did for the full show.

One Direction 2013 World Tour

After thinking that I wouldn’t be making it to a One Direction show, I was able to go see them Saturday at the Jones Beach Theater on Long Island.  I had never been to the venue – it is really cool! (Literally.) The stage is pretty much in the water at the beach and it’s a really neat place and hopefully I’ll get to go to another show there someday!  There were talks of thunder storms so I went prepared with my rain coat since the whole venue is open air and the night before the guys were playing in the rain.

I was a bit nervous about my ticket (stubhub / location) but it actually turned out to be really nice in the center of the venue! And there were still a lot more people behind me which is always sure sign that your tickets aren’t that bad 😉

5 Seconds of Summer opened.  I didn’t want to stand for their set, but the girls in front of me did, so I didn’t see any of it. (Well, that’s not entirely true. They recorded the whole thing on their phone so I was able to watch through the phone screen for some of it!) It was still light out so even if there was something on the screens, I couldn’t see it.  But from what I heard they were good.  They are from Australia and Louis discovered them on YouTube and asked them to join them on tour.  I think they came on at 7:30 or 7:45 – even though the show was “supposed” to start at 7. (The girl behind me was whining from 6:30 that no one was on stage yet…)

Then after what seemed like forever, One Direction took the stage! (I thought that they would be coming out at 8:20, but it was later than that. Which was worrying me because I thought there was going to be rain – but that was a non issue.)  They made sure to thank the fans constantly throughout the set which was a nice touch.  Harry also mentioned how the tickets went on sale over a year ago so that we had been waiting for the show for a long time.

For the questions from Twitter – they talked a bit about what 3 items they’d take on a deserted island with them, then Louis and Liam did cartwheels and they did the Harlem Shake which ended up with Harry having a horse head on and then saying he couldn’t sing any more because he was a little horse. (hoarse.)

During the encore, when Liam came out to sing Live Like We’re Young, the mic was not working.  So, he did what any great performer does and threw his arms out to motion to the fans to sing the verse.  And of course we did with no problem.  Then he ran back to the main stage to swap his mic out for one that was working 🙂

The show was a lot of fun and I thought it was cute how they mentioned the song titles before a lot of their songs (of course, when I didn’t need to be keeping track of a setlist!) and I am not sure that there was anyone who had more fun during the show than Harry!

Aaron Carter After Party Tour

Thursday night Aaron Carter brought his “Afterparty Tour” to my favorite venue.  I wasn’t really sure what to expect  because typically at these shows everyone sits and is respectful and I think I’ve stood for like 2 songs there, ever.  I knew with Aaron that there would be standing at least for the whole show but I wasn’t prepared (and I don’t think the venue was either) for the insanity that went on once Aaron took the stage. (But more on that later)  I also noticed that these girls there to see Aaron were not very observant.  When I first arrived I saw Aaron at the front of his van. Later when I got in line the girls behind me asked “I wonder where he is right now!” and her friend said “Probably backstage!” As if on cue, Aaron jumped out of the van shirtless and no one seemed to notice.  In between openers Aaron was peaking out from the curtain from backstage and the girls next to me waved to him but everyone else seemed to be oblivious. He even stuck his whole head out the curtain at one point!

First up was Justin Levinson – I was not a fan.  His music comes across as a temper tantrum. He stomps his feet, he bangs on the keyboard… it was a bit all over the place and all the songs seemed to melt into one.  But he did play a kazoo on his last song so, bonus points for that.

Alexis Babini was the second opening act and I really enjoyed his set! His stage presence seems like he is playing in a huge arena, but I think that just added to his appeal. His set seemed to go over much better with the crowd as well. I was totally in love until he decided to throw in Katy Perry into a medley. Instant turn off! 😉

Brandon Walden was the last to take the stage – he is Aaron’s sound manager and said he was asked to do a couple songs.  He did an Ed Sheeran song as well as an original song (and one other I think as well) and tried to get everyone to do an “Aaron, Aaron” chant as he was leaving the stage.  Which worked for a little bit but set up took so long, it fizzled out fast.

Aaron came out in a tank top with himself on it – from 12 years ago (or more!).  I guess that is one way to promote the merch you are selling.  All the girls started jumping over the seats and made a GA pit in the front row and then girls were standing on chairs and falling all over the place. It was absolutely nuts.  And here I was just concerned I’d have to stand the whole set, I never expected that girls would be falling on me too! He stared with I Want Candy (our setlist was a lot different than anything I was able to find online) and went into Another Earthquake and even took a moment to call me out for not jumping.  Sorry, Aaron, I can’t jump! I shook my head no at him and he wasn’t happy but I was not about to attempt to tell him my life story, in the middle of the show. (Nor was I going to pay $70 to meet him to explain. I sent a brief tweet though)  And I’m getting kind of sick of being called out for these things.  If you tell people to do something and they don’t do it, that’s their loss, just move on. They may have a legitimate reason for not doing it…

Because there was a piano backstage, Aaron asked them to bring it on stage and decided to show off a bit since he is a trained pianist.  He did a song about why he would never drink again and then another song on the piano too but I didn’t catch what it was.  Meanwhile, he had a girl sitting up on the stage that he was going to serenade which was kind of awkward because her back was to him.  But the next song was I’m All About You and well, he certainly did serenade her.

Then he talked a bit about how he loved the 90s – CatDog and Dunkaroos… and if anyone knew where to find Dunkaroos to get him some. (Do they even make them anymore? They are damn near impossible to find!) and then he did a cover of Vertical Horizon’s Everything You Want.

He did a couple other songs – one being a new one that I’m not sure if it’s called This is the Life or not but that is the lines he had the crowd sing back.  and Not Too Young, Not To Old before taking off his shirt and putting on, of course, an ONeal jersey. Of course then it was time for How I Beat Shaq.  A bit weird for a 25 year old to be singing it, but at least he’s not embarrassed about his past and knows that if he didn’t do it we’d have all been pretty pissed.

Then it was time for the encore – which was of course – Aaron’s Party.

Overall the show was very high energy, a lot of dancing and flips (he had 2 back up dancers) and it was a lot of fun.  And then we got a HUGE thunderstorm which started approximately 1 second after I got in my car.

(I’ll see if I can maybe add a few photos later! I’m in the process of moving and still getting everything set up)

Harry Connick Jr at Simsbury Meadows

When I went on my tear of winning 3 sets of tickets in 2 days, one pair was to see Harry Connick Jr in Simsbury.  I didn’t even realize such a venue existed.  We found the place and handicapped parking, only to be told that Will-Call was on the complete other side of the place and we couldn’t cut across because the buses and everything were there. So we had to drive around, park, walk to the ticket booth then go BACK to the handicapped parking (after being told we weren’t supposed to drive out of the handicapped area either!)  Only to then find out that our seats were lawn and we weren’t thinking and didn’t bring any sorts of chairs or anything.  Fortunately my mom had her beach chair and blanket in the back of her car so we made due with that after our epic journey to retrieve the tickets.

Around 8pm an announcement came on saying there would be no intermission during the show.  A little after 8, Harry took the stage.  He talked a lot… a woman had come up to give him a shirt and he gave her a hug and then was saying how she already had too much attention.  He brought a 9 year old girl up on stage with him for a bit to talk to her about her hat and where she was from. Before most of the songs he talked a bit about them – one was his wifes favorites, one he did for the movie when harry met sally, etc.

I was not really a fan going in to the show and I don’t know if I’d say I am a fan now but it was a highly entertaining show and New Orleans is on my bucket list and I’d love to visit – but for now – hearing some of his New Orleans jams will have to tide me over until I can make it there.

It was an interesting mix of genres and he said that he didnt like to stick to just one.  Some were more jazzy some where just as you would expect if you were out in New Orleans which was kind of cool along with a mix of some ballads and more up beat songs.  I tried to keep track of the setlist but since I don’t know much of his stuff… some are just some lyrics I wrote down. If you can figure out the titles let me know and I’ll just keep googling too 😉

Hanson ANTHEM Release Party

Night 2 of the New York City shows was the ANTHEM Release party.  The album was finally released that day.  They said that this show would focus more on the new album, and although there were rumors that they would play it in its entirety, they did skip playing 2 of the songs.  My “goal” is always to hear every song of the album at least once.  This is a fun thing to do – and it was “ruined” by 5 of 5 the last time they released an album because they did Shout It Out top to bottom before it was released during that week.  Going to several more shows on their upcoming fall tour I was hoping to have some rarities to look forward to and going into the show there were 3 songs I had yet to hear live.  They ended up doing all 3. I’ll have to come up with some new goal now, but I am also fairly certain I was at the first show they performed each of the songs at from Jamaica in January til now.  I’ll have to double check to be sure.

Much like the first night, around 8pm they started piping in the new album over the PA system and the guys hit the stage at about 9:15.  This show was also being aired on AXS TV (and apparently went an hour over and of course I didn’t think to set the DVR longer!)

They kicked off the set with the first song off the album – Fired Up.  (This works great as an opening number and not so great as a closing number like they did in Delaware a few weeks back) Then they went in to In The City which was appropriate because we were after all, in the city.  They did a really good job of mixing up the new and the old I thought as well, kind of alternating but not really messing with the overall flow of the show.  They kept commenting about now that they have 6 albums putting set lists together is a lot harder.  I hope they mix things up a LOT on tour.  It’ll keep me on my toes with my Hanson site and it’ll also make things more fun since we’re going to so many shows.

They pulled out a couple of rare songs – Save Me which aside from 5 of 5 and Saturday’s show I’d only heard once before.  On and On from the Members EP was back and quite a treat (though I’d kind of rather they do anything but that song from the EP because that one is probably my least favorite of them haha)  They also did Change In My Life acapella – which was great except for the fact that everyone kept “sshhhing” everyone around them and at one point even Taylor put a finger to his mouth to shush people.  You can’t settle down for ONE song people?

All of Taylor’s kids were up in the balcony rocking out during the show (with the exception of his youngest son who fell asleep early on on grandma’s lap, and baby daughter who was probably also off somewhere sleeping) and they were incredibly entertaining and adorable.

Despite the drama, a fun 2 days, but let’s just hope they never play that venue again.
