Product Review: Candy Pop Instax Film

If you have an Instax camera or an Instax Printer from Fuji Film, then you’ll want to know all about the Candy Pop border film from MyBruneiStore. It’s the Instax Film that you already know and love but with a fun white border with candy pop dots around it to give your photos a little extra something to really make them POP! (See what I did there.)  Each package comes with 10 sheets to load into your camera or printer.

I can’t wait to use these photos that I printed in my scrapbook and just for decorating around my room and desk!   I did have some trouble loading this pack of film into my camera – it took a few tries so if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! I am not sure if I was doing something wrong (this was the first pack I decided to try out and it’s been a while since I had used the printer) or if there was something else going on – but I finally got it to work so it was all good in the end!

Product Review: Luminous Series Moon Love Heard Pendant

This necklace is absolutely gorgeous, a crescent moon with a heart dangling.  Inside the heart is a small ball which will glow in the dark! Great gift for any occasion – Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Birthday, Anniversary or just to buy for yourself for the heck of it!

The pendant size is 3.5cm * 3.0cm, the chain is like 45cm and made of Copper, White Gold Plated.  The pendant if exposed to the sun, it will glow in the dark, if you stay in the dark for a long time, it will stop shining – you can get it to glow again if you beam it with your mobile phone flashlight or the sun.  The more light it absorbs, the brighter it appears.

I was curious if you could replace the ball inside it perhaps with something else (a pearl?) and I think that you can.  The heart piece of the pendant does open – you just have to get it off the jump ring first.  I haven’t tried it yet but it seems like it would be a successful experiment if having it be a glow in the dark necklace isn’t your thing.

Stephen Kellogg recently released a 2-CD Live album from his “Tour de Forty” that he embarked on earlier this year.  The sad thing is that he has said this will be his final release on CD – the music biz is changing and everything seems to be switching more and more over to digital.  As a collector, that makes me sad.  As someone who has too much clutter – well maybe it’s not such a bad thing.

I was pretty excited to hear that my favorite song, “My Favorite Place” was recorded at my show in Fairfield.  The cool thing about the album is that it was recorded from all the shows on the tour – but still flows and if you didn’t know it wasn’t all recorded at one show you probably couldn’t really tell. (For a moment I thought that they were all from my show – until there was a surprise before “Diamond” that I know was not my show) And I guess the various mentions of different city names kind of gives it away too 😉

This is a really great compilation of SK songs – if you’re not all that familiar with him this is a great place to start! And if you’re a fan and want to relive the greatness that is SK live – well, this is the disc for you.  Head on over to his website and his family store to get your own copy – and it will be packed up and shipped to you by one of his Four Kids!

Book Review: For The Love of Katie

For the Love of Katie is the 2nd book in the Katie Chronicles series. The first book, To Katie with Love, I had read previously but if you really wanted to, this second book could be read as a standalone.

Katie is an amateur detective, or so she thinks, and her sleuthing ways land her in jail in Paris. She speaks no French and is trying to talk her way out of jail. This time she was caught stalking… her husband?!  And that’s what lands her in jail. Oh, and she’s pregnant.   When the police ask her to “start from the beginning” she goes almost all the way back and we find out all of the events that happened leading up to her wedding.

In addition to having an awesome name, Katie is a fun character that gets in all sorts of strange and hilarious predicaments and I am looking forward to reading more about her and Cooper in the future!

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review. I was not otherwise compensated.

About the Book

Newlywed Katie Maxwell is ready to settle down and leave her amateur detective days behind. But when the veil of secrecy surrounding her husband’s latest project takes them to Europe, her penchant for sleuthing lands her in some serious hot foreign water.

Katie will need to think quickly to talk her way out of handcuffs and a Parisian jail cell. Too bad she doesn’t speak French.

For the Love of Katie is the second madcap adventure in The Katie Chronicles. This book can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to skip the first?

Product Review: Genuine 50 Sheets White Fuji Instax Film

One of my favorite toys is my FujiFilm Instax SP-1 printer, which allows me to print photos from my phone on to the Instax film without having to lug around my Instax camera.  I always am sure to stock up on the basic white sheets of film, because they work for pretty much any purpose. You can even buy patterned stickers to cover them with if you want to fancy them up a bit.

I love to print photos from my phone for my scrapbook, to hand out to friends or to hang up around the house and at work.  This film is compatible with the Instax Minis (7s, 8, 35, 50s, 90, SP-1, 7, 10, 30, 20i, 25i, 50i, 55i)  The film came with 2 1o packs in a box and one separate 10 pack.

This film is an ISO 800 wide picture format integral daylight color film designed for use with Fujifilm Instax series cameras. It yields consistent results under both daylight and and electronic flash conditions.

Mini Film:

Film Speed: ISO 800/30 degrees

Color: Daylight type (5500K)

Film Size: 86mm x 54mm

Image Size: 62mm x 46mm

Music Monday: Harry Styles Self Titled

Sign of the Times
Sweet Creature
Kiwi
Two Ghosts
Carolina
Meet Me In The Hallway
Woman
From the Dining Table
Ever Since New York
Only Angel

I’ve been putting off listening to Harry’s solo album for quite some time, considering it is now August and it came out in May.  I’ve had several friends tell me that it is absolutely amazing but I just haven’t been able to find the time.  I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect from his solo release and I have to say if you asked me what I thought it would sound like, what this album sounds like would absolutely not have been my answer – but I am digging it.  It’s a different sound from One Direction but it’s really great just the same and now I’m kind of kicking myself for not trying harder to get tickets to see him on his tour. (Even though most of his dates conflict pretty severely with my fall Hanson tour plans)  I’m not even sure I can pick a favorite on this album and there’s not that have gotten an automatic “skip” either.
