BetterGuard Mobile is a specialist Android privacy and security app. By using it you can find out which one of your apps has access to your contacts list, knows your location, copies your telephone number and device ID and which ones are submitting your personal data to another location.
BetterGuard Mobile uses a scoring system (1 bar to 4 bars) to rate how dangerous an app is to your privacy. The huge growth in malware and spyware in the Android world means you are more at risk than ever. Take back your privacy with BetterGuard Mobile!
This is not a free app – you will have to pay through paypal after installing it from the play marketplace.
After you get your paid subscription, you can scan your device for apps on your phone. Each one will pop up in a screen and it will let you know what was found. You can click the app after you can see how many items were found and it will give you all the details. Each item that is listed you can click to get more information to find out what each specific item does. If the app icon is in black and white, it needs to be scanned so you can select it and then scan the app to see if it has any threats to your privacy.
The apps on my phone with the most threats were games: Draw Something, Words with Friends and Scramble with Friends. Mostly because it has access to contacts – but this is needed in order to play the games.
It is up to you to take the information and decide if you want to get rid of the apps or not – there was nothing on my phone that I decided was worthy of getting rid of due to the threats – which is definitely a good thing!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
