I might have mentioned this before, but I run a website devoted to the locations the show Gossip Girl has filmed. (GossipGirl Filming Locations) Each week, I get screen caps from the episode and then find out where the filming took place (when I can) However, the screen caps are always not the ideal size for the website so often times I have to bring them in to photoshop and resize them all one by one. (Photoshop also has an “Automate” option, but I end up getting everything I’d need to create an online Web Gallery, which is not that I’m looking to do.)
Recently I was asked to try out the Pearl Mountain Image Converter, so obviously I checked it out to see if I can resize my Gossip Girl caps and QUICKLY. I was able to choose the size I wanted them to end up as and the process could not be quicker or easier.
From the task menu I chose to keep the format as a jpeg, resize them to 600 x 400 while not stretching the photo (therefore it would be in the ballpark of 400 if it would distort the image in any way – they ended up being 337 to keep them proportioned) and I skipped all the other options – but if I wanted to I could easily Watermark the photos (I’m going to have to try this soon to see if adding my Concert Katie image goes any quicker than one by one with photoshop), rename the files, correct the color and effects on the photo to make it brighter, have more contrast or saturation, add a border to the files or crop them.
The fact that the re-sizing of all the photos took the time it would have taken me to re-size just ONE in photoshop absolutely has me sold on this. I’d love for you to try it too! It would be a quick and easy way to re-size your vacation photos before uploading them to your blog and add a watermark as well. (My camera’s photos are too big for my WordPress blog to handle without reisizing them first.) The possibilities with this program are endless.
PearlMountain will be providing me with some serial codes for the program – please leave a comment with your email address and I will be choosing winners on June 30th at 11:59pm EST.
