Book Review: A Vision Of Lucy by Margaret Brownley

Recently I got the chance to read the book A Vision of Lucy by Margaret Brownley.  This is actually the third book in a series from Margaret, however I did not realize this until I was done!  There didn’t seem to be anything that I missed by not reading the other two – I think they are about different characters completely.

I was drawn to this book because Lucy wants to be a photographer and that is a hobby of mine.  However, this book takes place a long, long time ago so she has to carry around a lot more supplies than I do – I can just toss a digital camera in my pocket and be off… Lucy has to carry around the camera, tripod, plates, etc.

Lucy is very adventurous.  We are first introduced to her when she is climbing a tree to try and get a photo of a rare white stallion.  If she gets the shot – the editor of the newspaper will give her a job and will include her photos in the newspaper.  She also has a bit of a reputation around town as always seeming to be around when there is trouble.

This of course magnifies when the town finds out that she found the “Wild Man”, David Wolf.  Lucy starts to fall in love with David, but there are a lot of reasons why they can’t be together and the most prominent being that is half white and half native american.

Will Lucy get her job at the newspaper? Will women be able to vote? Will Lucy and the Wild Man end up together? Is David really a Wild Man and what will we find out about his past?  Find out all this and much, much more by checking out A Vision of Lucy!
