Life List

It is my goal to at some point in the not so distant future to make my life list. Which is a list of things that I want to accomplish before I die. (Sometimes known as a bucket list) Right now I do have some things in my head that I know I want to do, but I really need to write them all down!!

A few years back my friends turned me on to the websites: 43things.com and 43places.com Where you can list 43 things you want to do and 43 places you want to visit. I’m not sure why they limit you to 43 things, but once you achieve something you mark that you’ve done it (and if you want to help others with questions they may have about doing it) and then you can add 1 more item to your list so you are back at 43.

Right now on 43things, I’ve done 88 things and have 33 listed. Although I don’t think I’ve updated in close to 3 years so who knows how accurate that is now!

My counts on 43places are that I’ve visited 203 places and want to go to 38.

Funny, that I didn’t know why the max was 43, yet I’m not even at the max on either site!

Maybe later in the month one of my daily posts will be the start of the list… We’ll see!

Poladroid!

Poladroid is a free program available at poladroid.net and I absolutely love it.

After you install and open it, it puts a cute little polaroid camera on your desktop. Then you drag and drop whatever photos you want to convert into polaroids on to it. It processes it, makes a noise like the real camera does when it spits out your picture. Then you “shake” it around on your desktop until it comes to full color (just like the real thing!) and once it is at 100% it plays music and gets saved to “My Pictures” (You can probably change where it gets saved to, but this was the default and I don’t mind things getting saved in there)

So here is a sneak peak at what will eventually end up on concertkatie.com on the Photographs page. The only down side is that if the picture is of a group (ie, Lauren, me and the 4 gents of Honor Society) it doesn’t fit. So I might have to put my photoshop skills to work (HA! As if I have any!) and make those manually. If not someone ends up being cut out and that’s just not cool!

I also hope to get a cute handwriting font to put either the date or who is in the photo (or both?) on the bottom. But it’s all still a work in progress.

Anyway here is a photo of me and Alex from Honor Society, which was converted into a cute little Polaroid 🙂

Are You Dense?

For more information, check out are you dense .org

I was given these fliers by the office manager at my orthodontist’s office – she is a breast cancer survivor and is involved with this group who is trying to raise awareness and get insurance to cover tests for those who have dense breast tissue.

They are having the Music Fest ’09 concert and Quassy amusement park September 12th. I’m not sure if I will be going yet, but I would urge everyone to consider going if they are in the area – or at the very least making a donation on the website.

My Calendar

After David Wright calendars for the past 2 years, for 2009 I decided to make my own with pictures I took in 2008. Each month is a different person, including Hanson, Honor Society, the Jonas Brothers, David Wright and Demi Lovato.

Next year I will probably do the same, though a coworker said each month should be a collage of pics I took that month the previous year… I'm not sure yet how ill do it, I have a couple of months to decide!

This month is Nick Jonas month.

sTORI Telling

One of my goals for 2009 was to read at least 10 books. I reached 10 and then upped it to 15, since there’s still a decent amount of 2009 left. (And with summer basically over, concerts will be a bit more spread out so I’ll have more free time!)

Yesterday I finished Tori Spelling’s book, “sTORI Telling”. I’ll be honest, for a while most of what I knew about Tori Spelling was what the media thought I should know about her and what they fabricated about it. But there’s 3 sides to every story (yours, mine and the TRUTH) so it was nice to hear Tori’s side.

A while back my mom and I were channel surfing and landed on Oxygen and “Tori & Dean : Inn Love” We thought LiLi was adorable and got sucked in to watching this show of Tori and Dean trying to run a successful B&B.; There were days where we would sit and watch several episodes in a row during marathons, we were hooked.

If not for stumbling upon that show, I probably would have never even considered picking up this book, but I am glad I did. It was a relatively quick and easy read (I had started off reading a chapter or two before bed but over the past couple of nights I gave myself more time and knocked it out) and incredibly interesting. Everyone thought that Tori had it all because her father was Aaron Spelling, but that kid of hindered her as an actress.

In fact, as soon as I finished reading it I went over to Netflix and added So NoTORIous to my queue, and then bumped it up to the top so that those DVDs will be coming to me in the next couple of days.

If you think you know anything about Tori Spelling and have the time to read 20 chapters about the REAL Tori, I definitely recommend you pick up sTORI Telling and check it out.

The next book I will be started tonight is called “Rock Wives” and is of course another groupie book – my current favorite topic.

September Blog Challege

I don’t know if there is a “blog every day in September” challenge that actually exists, but what the heck, I’m going to challenge myself. Mainly because I need to get stuff scanned and organized for concertkatie.com and perhaps needing to find *something* to post here will motivate me.

I’m not sure everything will be music related – especially not this first week. (I’ll need the three day weekend to get stuff organized, most likely!)

But I do have 2 concerts and perhaps a 3rd attempt at meeting Kris Allen, and of course, Honor Society’s debut album is coming out this month as well. I also have 3 books taken out of the library due back on the 22nd so maybe I’ll post about those too! I really haven’t taken much time to plan this stuff out, so we’ll see what happens.
