Jonas Brothers 3d concert experience

Last night the jonas brothers 3d movie premiered so Lauren, my cousin and I went to see if any of our scenes from August were in it.

We had already heard from a couple of fans who had gone to the screening that at least a couple of songs were cut, but since we were filming for so long we were hopeful that something would be in there!

Our audience was small but incredibly obnoxious. During the scenes in between the concert clips, they would scream so many punchlines said by the brothers were lost because you couldn't hear the set up. A group also came down to the front to dance in the middle of the concert. Oh, to be a stupid careless teenager again.

Overall the 3d effects were awesome but I wish that so many songs were not cut out! (Fingers crossed they'll be on the dvd release) But I'd still much rather be at a real concert than see them on the big screen, even if I did have a better 'seat' for the show in the movie.

Nick Lachey 2-19-09

Yesterday I got a call from KC101 that I had won a meet and greet for me and a guest with Nick Lachey. Immediately I contacted my cousin, telling her she would be my guest.

We met at the station at 8:00, we were told to be there at 8:15. A couple other groups showed up and the secretary kept asking if Nick was coming in the lobby, and everyone said no he’d be in the side.

Except, they all lied because a few minutes later my cousin is poking me because Nick just walked in the door. (I was of course daydreaming and had no clue what was going on)

We got to go in a room to get our pic taken with him and quickly say hello. We went back into the lobby and were given sign 8x10s of him and that was that!

Pictures to come later because I had to go to work once all of that was done! (Although I only have the pic of me with him and one other that I took – everything was such a blur and went by so fast!)

Honor Society 2-15-09

Sunday I had the pleasure of attending Honor Society’s first SOLD OUT show at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY.

I was lucky enough to be placed in VIP seating for this show, although our seats were not anywhere near where we’d be able to see. We took over a different table because no one had seemed to claim it, and just a couple of minutes later THE JONAS BROTHERS showed up and were right next to me. I was close enough to touch them, if I didn’t mind losing my arm to one of their security guards. Joe’s latest flame, Camilla Bell, was also present.

Shortly after the brothers passes us, the fans on the floor also spotted the guys up in the balcony and the screams started (or perhaps continued.. they were screaming before/after every song on the sound system) and the camera flashes started going off.

Just after 7pm, the gentlemen of Honor Society took the stage with their new song “Over You” which I don’t believe had been played on the East Coast previously. The energy stayed up for almost the entire show, they took one break to sing a slower song “Goodnight My Love” in which Alexander left the drums and came up front to provide some vocals on a mic he shared with Jason and Alexander.

They did a cover of Kanye’s “Heartless”, then went into my favorite song of theirs Nobody Has to Know. After that song ended, Michael mentioned how they were disappointed that they couldn’t spend Valentine’s Day with us, but it wouldn’t be very gentlemanly of them if they didn’t give us a gift. When I looked down, the crowd was surging forward and for a second I thought I was back on the Rock Boat – it looked like waves, but it was people inching forward, they must have spotted our “gift” to the side of the stage…

The gift was Honor Society’s friend, OUR friend.. THE JONAS BROTHERS. The brothers joined them on stage for the song “Don’t Close the Book” which Honor Society had played with them when they opened out on the west coast the end of last year. They went to teach us all the “Ohs” that we would have to sing along, but most of the crowd already knew it. You gotta love YouTube.

After that, both bands left the stage. Honor Society came back out and told us that one of their songs we’d be hearing a lot lately (debut single, perhaps?) and played Over You again. I was excited, this was the one song I hoped they would play. And I guess I’ll be hearing it a lot at all the shows so I’m psyched. After the second version of Over You was finished – they finished their set with their popular myspace hit, See U In The Dark. Unfortunately I was too busy focusing on the band (cough) to see how many in the crowd were doing the Honor Roll.

Once the show was over, the meet and greet lin (which you could only get in if you bought merch) went down 2 flights on stairs, down the block of the Irving and halfway down the block around the corner. It took us 2 hours to make it through the line, but Michael and Andrew remembered us, and that was our big question of the day – it had been 6 months, would they remember us? They also were very impressed with the scrapbook that I had done on Shutterfly that is now complete – because I had them sign it ๐Ÿ™‚

This is crazy

A lot of girls are here because they thought jonas would be here and they aren't hs fans. I kind of hope jb doesn't show but I am in VIP and there is sections reserved for 'the jonas group' so I guess we will see!

Everyone in VIP seems to know each other too

I just hope come show time I find a spot where I can see! Its getting crowded up here

Holy cow!

We just arrived and the line is around the corner! Wow! Quite the change from our last nyc show in july!

We have ' VIP seating' so now we just wait for doors which should be about 6

(And why do I feel like I am risking my life everytime I get in a nyc cab?)

Heading to irving

We just finished mingling with the stars at the wax museum! Photos with wax jonas were expensive so we just took pics of them. But you could pose at the druns behind them – I wonder if Alex has?

Now we're finishing our traditional mcdonalds cheeseburgers and will be heading to the venue after a quick stop at bubba gumps for pressed pennies!

Talk to you all soon!

Weโ€™re on our way

We pulled up to the station as our train was leaving. Oops! Luckily there was another just 20 mins later.
People have been lined up at the venue since 11 or earlier according to Rebecca one of hs's st leaders. We probably won't get there until 4 at the earliest. Stay tuned for more updates!!

Live blogging

Now that I have made my way to the darkside and gotten a blackberry I will be able to live blog from the shows! Hopefully that will help me get reviews up in a much more timely manner.
I will be trying it out this sunday from the honor society show at irving plaza in new york city.
Also expect some photos of rock boat scrap book pages coming soon!! I worked on about 15 pages last weekend and hope to put the finishing touches on them (or photograph then as is) this weekend and get them up. I think that I am going to be scrapping this trip for the rest of my life – I have so many pics printed and haven't even seen what one of my cabinmates has taken yet! Most of our day in miami and nassau is what will be posted asap!

Music = Life

Hot Topic is once again selling items for their “Music = Life” Hot Topic Foundation. Several years ago, when the plastic bracelets were all the rage, for $1 I picked up a “Music = Life” bracelet. This time around they have a large and small bag, both priced at $1 as well as guitar picks ($.50), mints ($1) and kazoos ($1.50)

I just picked up myself a small “music = life” bag and 5 each of the guitar picks. 1 of each for a necklace I am making and the rest I might use as scrapbook embellishments since I mainly scrapbook concerts!

The shipping was a bit steep ($6.50 for $6 in merchandise!) but the rest of the $$ is going to a good cause and I rarely make it to my local mall, so I went for it. The Hot Topic foundation promotes education of the arts!

Head on over to HotTopic.com to check out what is available!
